A Course on Jesus Christ and His Disciples

“Young Catholics need to rub shoulders with the culture of Jesus and His times.  Likewise, they need to know that in Scripture things are not always what they appear to be. Scripture presents so much more, and young people should never be afraid of the truth as presented in Scripture. This course will help young people to appreciate the contemporary Catholic understanding of Scripture and give them tools to avoid fundamentalistic leanings that distort real Catholic doctrine and Scripture itself.”

Liturgy and Worship
A course on Prayer and Sacraments

“It is in the Church’s liturgy, especially the seven sacraments, that Catholics celebrate all that God has done for us in Christ Jesus through the working of the Holy Spirit.  Our salvation was made possible through the Paschal Mystery of Christ’s passion, death, resurrection, and ascension.  This mystery is made present to us in the sacred actions of the Church’s liturgy.  If young people are to be strong and faithful followers of Christ, they must make the liturgical life of the Church their own.”

Welcome to your ‘new’ school year!

May the good Lord continue to bless us with His care and vigilance.

And

May we grow in our faith so that we may see all that we do and say with the eyes of faith.

Church History

A course on the People of God

“This part of the Religion course will put the students in touch with the roots of their Church that took hold two thousand years ago.

Beginning with the apostolic age and the age of persecution, students will be introduced to the accomplishments of men and women of faith throughout the centuries.  The successes and difficulties that the Church has faced, both within and without, will be studied, but always with a view to help young Catholics of today face the challenges of their own time.”

Morality

A course on Catholic Living

“Within the course the students look at the deeper framework of moral decision making, we explore the Ten Commandments in greater detail.  Likewise, we concentrate on grospel formation (The Beatitudes) and what is means to live a life of virtue.  This course enables young people to navigate through challenging times with a clear and positive moral attitude that is essential for Catholics in the new millennium.”
