Congratulations to Joni Maxson who won a silver medal in the National Latin exam. The National Latin Exam is a test given to over 136,000 Latin students worldwide. The test covers general knowledge of Latin grammar, vocabulary, and mythology.
Our alumni were well-represented at our 2011 Basketball Kick-off event by Darren Jacoby, Nick Zalesky, Mary (Rager) Menardi, Gary Menardi, Kacey & Kyle McCaslin, Michael Hoeft, Ben Moser, Adam Riedell, and David Hutt. Nick and Darren are both basketball coaches at St. Louis. The alumni vs. coaches game was a great contest; the coaches squeaked out a win in the closing seconds!
Jan Altevogt is now Assistant Principal at St. Thomas More School in Centennial, CO. She will be stepping up to principal for the 2011-2012 school year. Jan began her Colorado education career teaching Middle School Language Arts at St. Louis.Maureen Kelly, past 4th grade Language Arts teacher, is now Assistant Principal at Normandy Elementary school in Littleton, CO.
Julie Monroe, long time 5th grade teacher, has returned to Colorado. She recently received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scout’s of America, Denver Area Council. This is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a volunteer. It is given in recognition of distinguished service to youth.
John Polichio has his granddaughter, Taylor Langlett, attending St. Louis Catholic School. Taylor is in 6th grade.
Peter Ritzer, past Middle School Religion and Social Studies teacher, is now a published author. Pick up his latest book, Seven Ox Seven.
Charlie Tuffield has his daughter, Jerry Walker, teaching 5th grade at St. Louis Catholic School.
Have you seen Chris Vanderveen (1988 graduate of St Louis) on Channel 9? He first thought about going intro journalism while he was in 8th grade at St. Louis.
The Zalesky family has kept close ties to St. Louis. Nick coaches the Widget and JV basketball teams and the Widget baseball team. Misty has her two daughters, Jade and Tayah, in attendance at the school.

Norma J. (Pitchford) Robinson, 1964 Graduate of St. Louis, currently lives in Colorado Springs, CO.
Rick Hays, 1966 Graduate of St. Louis, is retired from the communication industry. He now spends his time in volunteer projects and serving on numerous boards .
Tom Jeffers M.D., 1967 Graduate of St. Louis, is founder and President of New West Physicians Family Practice.
Ann J. Pitchford, 1967 Graduate of St. Louis, Received BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from the University of Colorado in 1975. She worked at Swedish Medical Center in ICU for several years in the late 1970's. In the 1980s-1990s owned and operated a small printing and copying business in west Denver. Ann enjoys volunteering with a variety of organizations Denver Dumb Friends League, St. Joseph's Blood Donor Center and occasionally contributing graphic arts services to St. Louis Parish and the Englewood Lions Club. Currently and for the last several years have been care taker for my 95 year-old mother - Mildred A. Pitchford, who taught 3rd grade and also 6th grade at St. Louis in the 1960's.

Anthony Jeffers, 1970 Graduate of St. Louis, is a Captain in the Denver Fire Department.
Timothy Jeffers, 1971 Graduate of St. Louis, is an Operations Manager.
Christine (Jeffers) Nelson, 1973 Graduate of St. Louis, is now Director for Senior YMCA.

Michael C. Maschka, 1977 graduate of St. Louis, is the Executive Director of Mountain View Retirement Community in Wheat Ridge.
Gregory Jeffers, 1978 Graduate of St. Louis, is a Grad student in Long Beach, CA.
Patrick C. Maschka, 1979 graduate of St. Louis, is married with 3 children and is a Middle and High School Psychologist with the Englewood Schools.
Jean (Jeffers) Hinckley, 1980 Graduate of St. Louis, is a Recreational Therapist and Nursing Home Consultant.
Marcie J. Maschka Walther, 1981 graduate of St. Louis, is married with 2 children and with her husband, Dave, does direct marketing of a natural health supplement.
Nancy J. (Maschka) Dryden, 1983 graduate of St. Louis, is now married with 2 children. She is an Office Manager for a non-profit counseling office.
Judith M. Baumgartner, 1984 Graduate of St. Louis, Made her monastic profession to the Benedictine Convent in the spring of 2011. She is now Sister Maria Elizabeth at Abbey St. Walburga.
Sean Jeffers, 1984 Graduate of St. Louis, is White Wave Systems Manager.
Catherine (Baumgartner) West, 1986 Graduate of St. Louis, is now Head Athletic Trainer for Jefferson County School District and the mother of 4 beautiful children.
Michelle (Jeffers) Matuszyski, 1986 Graduate of St. Louis, is a teacher.
Denise (Baumgartner) Fountaine, 1988 Graduate of St. Louis, is now a histologist.
Darren Jacoby, 1988 Graduate of St Louis, earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Colorado State University and a MBA from the University of Denver. Married to Denise with two dogs. Darren is currently the Director of Customer Relationship Marketing at Vail Resorts in Broomfield. He has been a basketball coach at St Louis for the past 16 years, coaching at all levels from widgets up through varsity including both boys and girls teams.
Mary (Rager) Menardi, 1988 Graduate of St. Louis, has been married to fellow alumni, Gary Menardi, for 15 years. They just had their first child, Matthew Dominic, in 2011. Mary is an implementation analyst for Quest diagnostics where she has been for 18 years. Mary & Gary have coached sports at St. Louis for 16 years and served as the athletic directors for 5 years.
Dave Baumgartner, 1990 Graduate of St. Louis, is a student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine where he is both MD and MBA Candidate, Class of 2013.
Anne (Rager) Ward, 1990 Graduate of St. Louis, has been married to Keith Ward for 9 years. They have two children named Gary and Adam. Gary currently attends 2nd grade at St. Louis School.
Sallie (Baumgartner) Guezuraga, 1992 Graduate of St. Louis, is now a Marketing Manager at Hallmark and the mother of 2 beautiful children.

Robert Rager, 1996 Graduate of St. Louis, is now a Service Writer for a Ford dealership in Ft. Collins
Jonathon Nelson, 1997 Graduate of St. Louis, is Sheriff in Summit County.
Denise Lujan, 1998 Graduate of St. Louis, is St. Louis Home & School Secretary.
Richie Nelson, 1999 Graduate of St. Louis, graduated from CSU. Currently working with the State of Colorado on technology and was instrumental in the setup of Daniels Business center.
Adam Riedell, 1999 Graduate of St. Louis, is now Paint Division Manager/Outside Sales for 9th Avenue Hardware Company. Married in August 2010 to Erin Riedell. Adam continues his work as a referee in our Widget League.
Lyle Bauman,2002 Graduate of St. Louis, graduated from University of Denver with a Master’s Degree in Accounting June 2011. He is currently employed at EKS&H, CPAs; married and expecting first child in Spring 2012.
Andrew Baumgartner, 2002 Graduate of St. Louis, is currently involved with the Cerner Development Program.
Sarah Hutt, 2003 Graduate of St. Louis, graduated from Colorado State University in May 2011 with degrees in Marketing and Spanish. She is currently marketing event coordinator for Viaero Wireless in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
Michelle Bauman, 2003 Graduate of St. Louis, graduated from University of Dallas with a degree in Politics & Journalism in May 2011. Michelle is now employed as the Washington DC correspondent for the Catholic News Agency (www.catholicnewsagency.com).
David Hutt, 2006 Graduate of St. Louis, attends attending Metropolitan State University studying computer information systems. He is employed at Geek Squad. He is also a referee in our Widget League.
Katherine Bauman, 2007 Graduate of St. Louis, is now studying at Benedictine College, focusing on Theology, Education, and Art.
